How to Make Chocolate Truffles Recipe

These are no-bake and super easy, so easy that my kids often get involved!

  1. Melt butter, chocolate, and sweetened condensed milk. In a heavy small saucepan combine sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and 1 teaspoon butter. Melt over low heat, stirring constantly. You can also do this in the microwave, but you will need to do it slowly and in intervals, stirring after each one.
  2. Heat until thick and glossy. Continue to heat over low-medium heat until thick and glossy. Be patient, chocolate needs to be heated gradually. If you increase the heat to speed things up you can end up with lumpy, burnt chocolate. Chocolate will be thick and start to easily peel away from the sides of your saucepan.
  3. Allow the chocolate ganache to cool. Coat a glass baking dish or pie plate with cooking spray. Pour the hot chocolate mixture into the bottom and allow to cool to room temperature.
  4. Place toppings in separate bowls. Place the ingredients you plan to roll your truffles into small bowls nearby.
  5. Roll into balls. Using your hands, a cookie scoop, or a melon baller, form the truffle mixture into small balls and immediately roll in sprinkles, cocoa, or powdered sugar and placing on a baking sheet. You might have to pack down the sprinkles a little, they don’t tend to stick as well. When storing, place parchment paper between each layer of milk chocolate truffles.
