Ingredients

All you need is a quick trip to the grocery store and the liquor store for the simple ingredients to make this winter cocktail.

  • Pineapple Juice – Find your favorite store-bought brand to use for this shot.
  • Vodka – Any vodka that you prefer will work well.
  • Blue Curaçao Liqueur – This adds an extra punch of citrus to the drink and gives it its icy blue color.
  • Cream De Coconut (Coconut Cream) – Cream of coconut gives the shot a rich consistency and a little more tropical flair.
  • Vanilla Frosting – Rimming the glass with frosting will help the sugar to adhere.
  • White Or Clear Sanding Sugar – Either of these will give the shot a sparkly garnish.

Variations on Jack Frost Shots

There are plenty of ways to switch up this easy recipe for a Jack Frost Drink. Here are a few ideas.

  • Liquor – Swap out the vodka for light rum, white rum, or spiced rum for an even more tropical vibe or add peppermint Schnapps for a minty take.
  • Citrus – Replace some or all of the pineapple juice with orange juice.
  • Frozen – Blend the ingredients with ice for a slushie-style shot.
  • Full Drink – Make it a full-size drink and serve it in a martini glass.
  • Rim of the Glass – Try trading out the sugar for shredded coconut rims.
  • Sweetness – For a sweeter drink, add simple syrup.
  • Garnish – Try using an alcohol-infused whipped cream to top the shot.

How to Make a Jack Frost Shot

Get ready for the easiest holiday shot ever! You can shake up these shots in nearly no time!

  1. Prep the glasses. Transfer the frosting to a small bowl or shallow plate and the sugar to another. Press the tops of the shot glasses into the frosting — you’ll want a thick layer on the rim of your glass. Then press it into the sugar.
  2. Make the drink. Pour the pineapple juice, Blue Curacao, and cream de coconut into a shaker with ice cubes. Place the top on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
  3. Pour. Strain the drink into the shot glasses and add a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.

Storage

These Jack Frost shots are best made fresh and served immediately. But if you do have leftovers, you can store them.

How to Store Leftover Jack Frost Shots

Store any leftover cocktails in the refrigerator in an airtight container or mason jar for up to one day.
