A crunchy snack used to dunk into dips both savory and sweet, pretzels are one versatile ingredient! Eat them alone or crumble them into a dessert!
What are pretzels?
They are a type of baked pastry made from dough that is shaped like a knot. The usual pretzel shape is a symmetrical in form, with the ends of a long strip of dough intertwined and then twisted back onto itself in a particular way.
However, they can be found in lots of shapes now, including rods and waffle type shapes.
There two types of pretzels, soft and crunchy. Soft pretzels are usually coated with coarse salt and then dipped in either cheese or spicy mustard.
The hard ones can be used for all sorts of things! Eat them by themselves as a snack, dip them into your favorite dip, or even crumble them up into a dessert or salad to add some crunch.
