Dijon Lime Salad Dressing

Who buys bottled store bought dressing anymore? I rarely do- maybe a bottle of thousand island, blue cheese or ranch dressing for a batch of wings, but generally speaking, I concoct my own salad toppers like this Dijon Lime deliciousness.

Dijon Lime Salad Dressing is one that I developed in cahoots with Chef Tony Biggs of Certified Angus Beef® brand specifically for a Beef Carpaccio Salad, however it can be used on any salad.

We both loved the essence of a lime dressing and Dijon mustard dressing, total acid lovers right here! At least something a notch up from oil vinegar.

Make sure you PIN Dijon Lime Salad Dressing!

I personally like the bitter flavors on similarly bitter lettuce, like frisee or radicchio, with a little bit of sweet like cranberry or candied nuts.

PRO TIP: Use fresh lime juice instead of bottled. Citrus juices start to lose potency the moment they are squeezed.

But really, Dijon Lime Salad Dressing tastes fabulous on anything from salad to grilled veggies.

Dijon Lime Salad Dressing can also be used as a marinade for chicken, seafood or beef. For chicken or beef I recommend marinating for 3-4 hours. For seafood you’ll probably only need an hour or so to impart the same amount of flavor.

Homemade salad dressings are fabulous to make in bulk and then store in an airtight container or salad dressing container. They stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

And if you are like me and just eyeball the recipe, you’ll never get the same salad dressing twice, making sure you never get bored.

Questions you might have about how to make Dijon Lime Dressing:

Can I make homemade salad dressing in advance? You sure can! Make up to 24 hours ahead of time. In fact, I like to let it sit a little to allow the flavors to meld.

How long are homemade dressings good for? If kept in the refrigerator, about 1 week. Since your salad dressing won’t have any additives or preservatives, it won’t last as long as other bottled dressings. We doubt it will last that long though.

Is this a gluten free salad dressing? It can be, just check your bottle of mustard to make sure the brand you are using is gluten free.

I like creamy dressings, how can I make this one creamy? Blend a small amount of the dressing with Greek yogurt. This also makes for an excellent marinade or topping for fish or grilled chicken.

Lime dressing is delicious, if I can describe a dressing that way! Very simple to make and gives everything you need for non-overpowering dressing. It compliments a salad.
