I was a Brussels Sprout lover a long time before this recipe. One of my signature dishes is sprouts with bacon. But this Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts recipe right here just upped my brussels game.
Fresh vs Frozen
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this recipe doesn’t work with frozen Brussels sprouts. Fresh sprouts are the way to go.
Of course they will cook, but since frozen retains so much more water, not all of it will evaporate and you’ll have mushy sprouts.
Ingredients
You will easily be able to find these air fryer brussels sprouts ingredients at your local grocery store.
- Brussels sprouts – You want to make sure your brussels sprouts are trimmed. If a few of the outer leaves fall off, don’t throw them out! The loose leaves get extra crispy, almost like potato chips.
- Olive oil – We coat the brussels sprouts in oil so that they don’t stick to the fryer basket. You could also use another neutral oil like avocado oil instead of extra virgin olive oil.
- Coarse sea salt – To add some flavor to these sprouts, I like to sprinkle a little sea salt. Keep in mind that different salts measure differently
Variations
These air fryer brussels sprouts are really quite basic. There are plenty of toppings and seasonings you can add to these crispy brussels sprouts up a notch.
- Garlic powder
- Balsamic vinegar
- Balsamic reduction
- Black pepper
- Red pepper flakes
- Parmesan cheese
- Maple syrup
- Italian seasoning
- Onion powder
- Hot honey
- Soy sauce
- Fresh garlic cloves
- Cajun seasoning

You are going to love how easy it is to get this great side dish on the dinner table!

- Add toppings. Remove and serve with your favorite sauce or seasoning.
What to Serve with Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts
Air fryer vegetable recipes pair perfectly with any weeknight dinner. I like to serve them with a main course like pork chops or a juicy steak.
You can pair them with other simple side dish recipes like sweet potatoes, air fryer cauliflower, air fryer broccoli, air fryer carrots, air fryer zucchini or any other air fryer veggie recipes that you like.
Storage and Freezing
How to Store
Once cooled to room temperature, transfer leftover Brussels sprouts to an airtight container and store them for 2-3 days in the fridge.
Can I Freeze Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts?
Freeze Brussels sprouts in a freezer-safe container or a resealable plastic bag for up to 3 months. To minimize the sprouts sticking together, you may want to place them on a sheet pan in a single layer and flash freeze them before transferring them to more permanent storage in the freezer.
