As I meandered through the produce section, the sweet, intoxicating scent of fresh peaches hit my nose before I even saw the display. My fate was sealed, we would be having peaches in some capacity today.

I love peaches. I also then start singing the song Peaches by the Presidents of the United States when I see them. You read me regularly, you’ll know I associate all sorts of songs to food. #weirdo

To make stunning grilled peaches, they need a nice initial char, but are then moved to indirect heat. Gotta have those lovely grill marks, right?

They will be soft, caramelized peaches just about the time supper is done. And then you are also getting your fruit for the day.

The only thing that makes this Grilled Peaches recipe better is… (drum roll, please) vanilla bean ice cream! Cold, churned cream is the perfect accompaniment for warm, gooey desserts, especially peaches.

Grilled peaches are perfect for a cozy family dinner at home, but also for a BBQ or party. Just load them onto the grill and transfer them to a large serving dish with ice cream on the side, allowing folks to make their own grilled peach creation.

This recipe can be used for any grilled stone fruit. Try it with plums and nectarines, too! Depending on size, they might not need as long to cook.

Why You’ll Love These Grilled Peaches

Perfect peaches topped with a cinnamon sugar mixture and grilled to perfection- what’s not to love?

  • Delicious summer dessert – When you’ve got the bounty of peach season, there’s no better way to use them than making these easy grilled peaches.
  • Quick and easy – The ingredient list is short and you can have this peach perfection ready in only 15 minutes.
  • Great for stone fruit season – When you’re tired of peach pie or peach cobbler, this easy summer dessert will come to the rescue.

Ingredients

All of these simple ingredients can easily be found at your local grocery store if you don’t already have them on hand.

  • Peaches – It probably goes without saying, but you want to use ripe peaches. Make sure they are halved and pitted.
  • Butter – I always prefer to use unsalted butter when cooking. That way I’m able to control the amount of salt that goes into the recipe.
  • Cinnamon – Ground cinnamon sprinkled on these simple grilled peaches really brings a little bit of warmth to the peach slices.
  • Brown sugar – You don’t need much sugar for this simple recipe because the natural sugars of the peaches are sweet enough. But brown sugar adds a little something extra and flavor.
  • Fine sea salt – A sprinkle of salt really brings out the flavor of sweet treats. If using salted butter, you can omit this.
  • Canola oil – You don’t want the cut side of the peaches to stick to the grill, and using oil is the best way to do that.
  • Garnishes – I like to use mint leaves and fresh raspberries for garnish. They add some color and also flavor variation to this peach recipe.
  • Vanilla bean ice cream – There’s nothing better than to serve these juicy peaches with a scoop of ice cream.

You are going to love how easy it is to make this perfect summer dessert.

  1. Combine butter, cinnamon, brown sugar and salt. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, cinnamon, brown sugar and salt. Set aside
  2. Prepare grill and peach halves. Prepare the grill grates by heating to medium heat. Baste cut side of peaches with canola oil.
  3. Grill. Place peaches, cut side down. Baste uncut side and flip, transferring to indirect heat.
  4. Baste. Baste or spoon butter mixture to cut side of peaches. Allow to cook again on indirect heat.

How to Serve Grilled Peaches

As stated above, my favorite way to serve these peaches is to top each peach half with a scoop of ice cream, mint leaves and fresh raspberries. You could also top with nuts, shredded coconut or even a caramel drizzle.

If you want to step out of the box, try adding them to the top of pork chops. The sweet and savory combo is out of this world delicious- so don’t knock it till you try it!

Variations

We like these grilled peaches exactly as is, but here are a few of our favorite ways you can make them your own.

  • Drizzle of honey – Drizzle some honey, or even replace the brown sugar with honey for an extra element of sweet.
  • Balsamic glaze – Balsamic isn’t just for savory recipes- it pairs really well with the natural sweetness of the peaches.
  • Greek yogurt – If you’re looking to take your breakfast to the next level, try adding these sweet peaches to your morning yogurt.
  • Charcoal grill – If you’d like a little bit of a smoky flavor to this easy dessert, try cooking them on a charcoal grill.

Storage and Freezing

Storage: Store any extra grilled peaches in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will last for just a couple of days.

Freezing: I do not recommend freezing this recipe. The peaches will thaw soggy.
