Blender Salsa

I’m a woman who loves her salsa. I have gone as far as ordering my favorite brand direct from Mexico when I couldn’t find it stateside anymore. So when I’m craving it, the next best thing is my quick and easy blender salsa recipe.

I am also a woman on the go so I wanted to make this as quick and painless as possible in terms of assembly. As you have probably already guessed, 3-Minute Salsa is ready in just 3 minutes.

How does this magic work? I use tomatoes and green chiles in the can (prep saved) and then I add in fresh onion, fresh garlic, fresh jalapeno, and fresh cilantro. Talk about a solution.

Ingredients for This Easy Salsa Recipe

You only need a handful of simple ingredients to make the best homemade blender salsa.

  • Garlic cloves – Garlic packs a huge flavor punch to homemade salsa. I use a few cloves, but measure it with your heart.
  • Jalapeños – You want to make sure the stems and seeds are removed. You can add a little more if you like your salsa spicy.
  • Red onion – I used red onion because I like the bold flavor of it, but feel free to use white onion or yellow instead.
  • Cilantro – not only does this add gorgeous green color to our salsa, but it also adds that iconic flavor.
  • Diced tomatoes – The easiest thing to do is to is buy canned tomatoes from the grocery store, but if you have an abundance of fresh tomatoes from your garden, use them!
  • Diced green chiles – You can easily find these at your local grocery store. They come canned, so make sure they are drained before adding.

Variations

There are plenty of ways to make this blender salsa recipe your own. Here are a few suggestions.

  • Lime juice – If you’d like to add a little zing to your salsa, consider squeezing some fresh lime juice into it.
  • Onion – I used red onion because I like the bold flavor of it, but feel free to use white onion instead.
  • Spices – Make this easy salsa recipe to your own tastes. Consider adding something like cumin or chile powder for a different flavor. A simple kosher salt and pepper will work too.

How to Make Blender Salsa

You won’t believe how easy it is to make restaurant style salsa at home!

  1. Blend garlic, jalapenos, red onion and cilantro. Place garlic through cilantro into your blender. Pulse several times until finely chopped.
  2. Add drained tomatoes and green chiles. Blend for a few seconds. Do not over mix, otherwise the power of your blender will result in juicing instead of a chunky salsa. Pulse blender until salsa reaches your desired consistency.

How to Serve Blender Salsa

Once the salsa is prepared, serve it with whatever you like! I love chips and salsa snack, but you can also incorporate it into your favorite breakfast burritos, over crock pot breakfast casserole, it can be spooned over a great steak, added to your burgers, or put it on homemade nachos, even as a dipper for Mexican pinwheels. The options are endless.

Of course, my favorite way to enjoy this salsa is to just scoop it up with some homemade tortilla chips. However, there are endless ways to use it!

Serve salsa on top of some of our Mexican food favorites like Crispy Mexican Chicken, Loaded Nachos , Chile Relleno Casserole Recipe or Crispy Chicken Quesadilla.
